Necrotic parodontitis

Ulcerous gingivo-stomatitis
Acute, necrotisising ulcerous gingivitis

In necrotisising ulcerous gingivitis, an infection has clinically appeared with very specific germs (fusiform bacteria, borrelia and others). This is a painful inflammation with suppurative tissue deterioration. Patients may have a temperature, feel really ill and have bad halitosis. Food intake is complicated due to painful mucosa.

If the infection encroaches on further parts of the parodontium, we speak of necrotisising, ulcerating paradontitis. The patient's feeling of illness increases. While trying to find the cause, remember that other underlying diseases could be to blame (AIDS, certain forms of leukaemia).
